Can anyone take a POUND class regardless of age and fitness level?


POUND® welcomes participants of any age, level, and ability and musical preference through flexible programming, diverse and exciting rhythms, exceptional instruction, and good old-fashioned fun. I will implement tiered modification system within every track to ensure that the workout suits the needs and ability of any age or level of participant.

Where did POUND come from?


POUND® was created in 2011 by two women, Kirsten Potenza and Cristina Peerenboom, who were both recreational drummers and former college athletes. They relied heavily on stability-based exercises like pilates to keep their bodies aligned,
symmetrical and lean, but were bored with routine and longed to reignite
the fun in exercise. It wasn’t until they were forced to drum without a stool
and squat over the drum kit that they realized drumming and exercise
could be one and the same.




What will POUND do for my strength?


Squat, lunge, twist and lift your way to a stronger and leaner physique. Deep, focused movements build muscular strength and enhance muscle definition.In adition, exposure to a mulitude of movements and strike patterns ups your neuro-muscular feedback loop aiding in strength gains.




What body benefits can I expect from POUND?


Balance and core strength! Ripstix combined with POUND techniques keep the body consistently adapting to a shifting center of gravity throughout the workout. Over time your core will strengthen and your balance will iprove as a response to the demands of the workout.




What will POUND do for my cardio?


Large, thythmic movements comprise my workout bass line making POUND optimal for building aerobic fitness. Additionally, movements allow you to improve your anaerobic capacity. POUND is a cartio challenge hidden by motivating and electric music as well as the fun of drumming.




Why it works?


Instead of counting reps or peeping at your fitness tracker to keep track of the clock, POUND distracts you from the high-intensity and duration of your workout, but rather shifts your focus to the volume and rhythm. This smart tactic is the reason you cannot stay away! A song is two to four minutes long and is carefully calibrated with internal peaks and extended during sequences, making sure that you get the best workout in the shortest span of time. The cool thing is after you’re completed a 45-minute POUND class, you’ll have done up to 15, 000 reps, performed over 30 extended interval peaks, and drummed through more than 70 techniques without even realising it. Ripstix


Ripstix add 1/4 lb extra weight to each movement which throws the body
off balance, creating contraction in the core and stabilization system.

that not only works the shoulders, biceps, triceps, forearms, and back, but
also dramatically increases the amount of instability in the body. + Ripstix allow participants to experience audio-muscular connection. This
